Job Title: Insulation Installer
This position entails stapling fiberglass or rock wool batts to exterior walls and ceilings before drywall, paneling or plaster walls are put in place.
Insulation workers must be able to use common hand tools—trowels, brushes, knives, scissors, saws, pliers and stapling hammer. Insulation workers must be able to read job instructions and record materials to work order. Insulation workers must be able to work in tight places or in high places from ladders or scaffolding. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding. Must be able to bend, twist and turn body at shoulders, waist and knees to handle and install insulation. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Job Title: Foam Insulation Installer
In new construction or major renovations, foam insulation workers spray into exterior walls and attics before drywall, paneling or plaster walls are put in place. Foam insulation workers generally work indoors and spend most of the workday on their feet, either standing, bending or kneeling. Sometimes, they work from ladders or in tight spaces and often times they are in attics. Foam work is very dusty and dirty, and workers are required to wear protective gear for the mouth, N-95 and safety glasses. The summer heat and winter cold can make the insulation worker very uncomfortable. Temperatures range from 150 degrees Fahrenheit to 30 degrees Fahrenheit.

Foam insulation workers must be able to read job instructions and record materials to work order. Workers must be able to work in tight places or in high places from ladders or scaffolding. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding repeatedly in a day. Must be able to frequently bend, twist and turn body at shoulders, waist and knees with spray hose in hand.
